Akokwa united football club is a newly formed football club in 2023 and the club officially kicked off on March 16th 2024, The Club has great passion for footballing excellence. Akokwa united football club was borne out of long nursed ambition to nurture football talents in Akokwa and environs. The club has great vision and ambition to produce players for the National team of different age categories and for bigger clubs in Europe and the world at large. The Club was founded by Bro Kingsley Elochukwu Azodo who has been into football since his primary school days. The Club is based in Akokwa in Ideato north LGA Imo State Nigeria and has been using Secondary Technical school Akokwa as their temporarily training base as they work towards their permanent home base.

The club has 33 players and 4 technical crew members. The formation of this Club comes after a meeting with a humble philanthropist in the person of Mr Kingsley Nnaemeka Anagwo….who happens to be the encourager of this vision, from his humble advice and encouragement, The club was formed and the Search for investors, Sponsors, and partners began….After a long search and input from different individuals that includes Mr Damian Mbadugha and others, There was no Specific results on the Search for Sponsorship and partnerships. The Club Vision and Ideas was also Shared to some individuals, which includes Mr Innocent Munonye, Bar Barnabas Munonye, Mr Chisom Abala, Chief Uchechukwu Onwuelingo, Prince Collins Chimezie Azodo with other individuals, firms etc, with the approach to form alliance with Mr Kingsley Nnaemeka Anagwo as investors, who has previously declared his interest to be one of the investors going forward, Although the approach for the investors partnership (Alliance) didn’t yield results. The club first official football engagement is NATIONWIDE LEAGUE ONE DIVISION 2 2024 SEASON, which Akokwa united football club center was Awka and they came second on log.
